Old crayons

I sincerely hope that you are on winter break already and this post doesn’t apply to you!!  But if it does because you’re working through Friday like I am…

Consider taking out the crayons from wherever you keep them and replacing them with new ones (if your students share supplies and you keep them in one location in your room).  Right before winter break, I always replace the old crayons with new ones, and send the old ones home with the kids.  My kids come from low-income homes, and they really enjoy having “new” crayons (even if they’re actually quite old!) to color with at home over break.

Also, if you’re looking for some simple activities for your K-1st graders over break, check out this freebie here.  Just print and send home with your kiddos for some no-stress winter fun that keeps their brains ready for school!

Happy holidays!!
